SUTTON - A. Howard Watson Sr. 93, of 33 Putnam Hill Rd., died Monday, Dec. 29th in his home, after an illness. He was born October 11, 1910, in Birmingham, England, son of Samuel and Henrietta (Howes) Watson and his family moved to Worcester from England in 1924. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Thelma (Dodson) Watson.
Survivors include one son, Alfred Howard Watson, Jr. and his wife, Sally, of Yarmouth Port, one daughter, Sylvia McGaffigan, and her husband Frank, of Walpole, NH; four grandchildren, Karen (McGaffigan) Feeney of Littleton, Christine (Watson) Guenard, of Hanover, Melanie (Watson) Bonnevie of Cumberland, ME, and Thomas Howard Watson, of Newton; four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Walter Watson of Largo, FL.
Mr. Watson attended schools in England and Worcester. He retired after 36 years from Wyman Gordon Company, where he worked at both the Worcester and Grafton plants as a die maker.
He was a member of Olive Branch Lodge of Masons, A. F. & A. M. for over 40 years and a member of the First Congregational Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Jan 3rd in the First Congregational Church, 307 Boston Road, on the Common. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery. Calling hours are 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, Jan. 2nd at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury.
