Albert Laucis

February 2, 1928 — November 20, 2010

MILLBURY – Albert J. Laucis, 82, passed away on Nov. 20th at home, after his battle with Sarcoma Cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rita F. (Kachnowicz) Laucis; two daughters, Catherine F. Laucis of Sutton and Diane M. Laucis-Olson and dearest son-in-law, Olof "Fred" Olson of Charlton; a sister, Nellie Lauria of Worcester; nieces, nephews and friends who all admired him for all he was, "A Very Special Loving and Caring Man". He was born in Worcester on February 2, 1928 the son of the late Simon L. and Amelia (Mazeika) Laucis.

Albert worked for the Wyman-Gordon Co. for many years as a project engineer, retiring in 1988. He was Army Air Force veteran and served his country in Japan during WW II. He was an active sportsman and founder of the Black Patch Muzzle Loaders. He was recognized by the Massachusetts House of Representatives for his dedicated service to the Commonwealth of Mass. Sportsman and was indoctrinated into the Massachusetts Sportsman's Counsel Hall of Fame. He loved to train his Brittany Spaniels and compete in the field train circuit where he and his faithful companions achieved numerous ribbons and awards. He opened his home both in Millbury and on Cape Cod to family and friends as a loving space of memorable happy fun times

Albert was well loved as a husband, father, father-in-law, brother and friend. He could always be counted on to lend a hand and provide support to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his friends and love ones. He has given the greatest gift to mankind by donating himself to the Anatomical Gift Program at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23rd at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr. in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608 or on line at www. vnacarenetwork, org. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
