Alden L Perry, 88, of Sutton passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday May 27th 2012.
He leaves his loving wife of 63 years, Anah Johnson Perry; seven children: Judith A. Daniels and her husband Donald of Worcester, James L. Perry and his wife Sandra of Sutton, Carol E. Perry of Sutton, Mary C. Turner and her husband David of Uxbridge, Jack A. Perry of Sutton, Connie M. Perry and Jay Howard of Millbury, Jill L. Palmer and her husband Curtis of Uxbridge; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; A brother George Perry and his wife, Esther of California; a sister-in-law, Marie Perry of Sutton; cousins Robert Perry and Calvin Perry of Florida and Janice Swindell, Marthina King and David King of Sutton; nephews and a niece. He is predeceased by his parents, Norman and Olive (Sherman) Perry, two brothers, Maurice and Dudley Perry.
Alden was born on July 4th 1923, the son of Olive Sherman and Norman Clifford Perry. He was born and raised on The Maples Farm on Singletary Ave in Sutton. He continued running the family farm until 1968. At that time he continued his working career at Wyman Gordon, Shannon Trucking, The Town of Sutton Highway Department and The First Congregational Church in Sutton.
Alden was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He enjoyed going down to the lake, eating onion rings at Nauset beach, reading and spending time with his sons-in-law. He liked his tractors and working in the garden. He loved being surrounded by his family. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the VNA of Auburn and hospice connected to Memorial Hospital. Alden's graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, June 2nd at 10 a.m. in Old Howard Cemetery, Armsby Road in Sutton. There are no calling hours.
