MILLBURY – Aldona I. "Beb" (Stanchus) Murphy, 84, died on Tuesday, Nov. 24th at Christopher House of Worcester, surrounded by her family.
Her husband, Godfrey T. Murphy died in 1971. She leaves two daughters, Lois E. wife of Robert D. Sbrogna of Holden and Deborah P. wife of Michael Hanlan of Sutton; a son Thomas A. Murphy and his wife Leah of Oxford; eight grandchildren, Michael, Kimberly, Jeffrey Sbrogna, Michael, Ross, Kate and Kelsey Hanlan and Justin Murphy; a sister, Pauline Plainte of Brookfield and Jensen Beach, FL; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Louise (Baguskas) Stanchus. She graduated from the former Commerce High School in Worcester.
Aldona was employed for many years at Hanrahan & Co. Stock Brokers and then for Attorney Charles B. Campbell of Worcester, before she retired. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was a fun loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
Her funeral will be held Saturday Nov. 28th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27th in the funeral home.
