MILLBURY – Alexander J. Miller, 95, died Wednesday, July 20th at Care One Millbury.

His wife, Helen R. O’Connor Miller died in 1986 and is also predeceased by his long-time companion, Betty LaFlamme.   Also predeceased by three sisters, Cecile, Clara and Mary and two brothers Leon and Raymond.  He leaves three daughters, Carol L. Santora and her husband, Michael of Worcester, Nancy Yacino and her husband, Alan of Oxford and Arlene Szynal of Worcester; a  son, David Miller of Utah; 14 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, Leo and Henrietta Miller and two daughters, Jean Ann McGovern and Marjorie R. Love.

Mr. Miller was a machine operator at the former Felters Co. in Millbury for over 40 years, before he retired.  He was a US Army veteran during WW II serving as a paratrooper with the 11th Air Borne Unit.  He enjoyed traveling, playing poker and fishing and hunting.  Alex was a kind and gentle man who cherished his family above all else.

Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 3rd at Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 N. Main St. Millbury.  His funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4th and burial with military honors will follow at Central Cemetery in Millbury.
