SUTTON/GRAFTON - Alfreda (Holewa) Pepka, 90, of Sutton, formerly of South Grafton, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 in St. Camillus Health Center, Whitinsville.
Her husband of 67 years, William A. Pepka, Sr. died June 23rd. She leaves a daughter and best friend, Janice L. Pepka of Whitinsville; a son, William A. Pepka, Jr. and his wife Priscilla of Sutton; a sister, Rita Lada of Webster; 2 brothers, Edwin Holewa of Dudley, and Walter Holewa of New York; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Mrs. Pepka was born in Dudley, a daughter of Joseph and Anna (Lis) Holewa. She was predeceased by a sister, Charlotte Garabedian, 4 brothers, Chester, John, Theodore, and Leon Holewa.
Mrs. Pepka traveled throughout the United States with her husband Bill while he served in the U.S. Army. Alfreda greatly enjoyed her family, card playing, reading, gardening, and attending family functions. Alfreda was a 20 year survivor of a brain aneurysm and lived her life to the fullest. She will surely be missed by those who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 in St. Patrick's Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial will be private in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery in Webster. Memorial contributions may be made to The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover St., Building 3, Hanover, MA 02339. There are no calling hours. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family with the arrangements.
