Alice Hassett

May 14, 1910 — September 19, 2001

MILLBURY - Alice M. (Cusworth) Hassett, 91, of 95 Elm St., died Wednesday, Sept. 19, in St. Vincent Hospital at the Worcester Medical Center.

Her husband, James A. Hassett died in 1980. She leaves a daughter, Marjorie H. White of Manchaug; a sister, Marjorie Mehew of Smithfield, R.I.; nephews and nieces. A brother, Ralph Cusworth of Johnston, R.I. died last year. She was born in Greystone, R.I. daughter of Ralph and Sarah E. (Stubbs) Cusworth and lived in Maine, Oxford and Sutton before moving to Millbury in 1981. She attended Bryant College.

Mrs. Hassett was an accountant at Bowler Electric in Worcester for 4 years before retiring. She previously worked in the office at Rhode Island Esmond Mills and the former Denholm & McKay Store in Worccester..

She was a member of the Betsy Williams Order of the Eastern Star in Centerdale, R.I. and a member of the Sutton Golden Age.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. Burial will be in Acote Cemetery, Chepachet, R.I.. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept 21, in the funeral home.
