MILLBURY – Alice M. (McArdle) Taft, 96, died Thursday, March 8th in the Life Care Center in Auburn.
Her husband, Francis C. Taft died in 1992. She leaves two daughters, Jane M. Puntillo and her husband, Grazio and Anne M. Taft all of Millbury; a son, William P. Taft and his wife, Eugenia of Utica, New York; two grandchildren, Michael Puntillo and Mary E. Cadrin both of Millbury; two great grandchildren, Ian and Olivia Cadrin; two sisters, Patricia G. Graves of New York and Elizabeth E. Young of Rhode Island; a brother, William H. McArdle and his wife, Barbara of Florida; a sister-in-law, Marjorie McArdle of Millbury; nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, and is predeceased by her parents, John P. and Anna B. (Gibson) McArdle, two sisters, Margaret Dyer and Mary Warren, two brothers, Vincent and John McArdle.
Mrs. Taft was a long time bookkeeper for Worcester State Hospital, before she retired and was a long time member of St. Brigid Church. The family would like to thank all the medical personnel, and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital and the Life Care Center of Auburn for their compassionate and professional care.
Alice's funeral will be held Tuesday, March 13th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 12th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
