DOUGLAS - Allan H. Ordway, 57, of 234 Yew St., formerly of Elmwood St. in Millbury, died Friday, March 7, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus, Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Cheryl A. (Wesson) Ordway; his mother, Dorothy B. (Burns) Ordway Latuga of West Boylston; two sons, Adam J. Ordway of West Boylston and Mathew J. Ordway of Auburn; a daughter, Alison D. Mallett of Worcester; three step-sons, Scott G. Sheperd of Arlington, Texas, Ronald R. Sheperd of Charlton and Timothy F. Sheperd of Oxford; a step-daughter, Laurie L. Nowosadko of Dudley; a brother, George C. Ordway II of Clovis, Ca.; a sister, Barbara Forget of Auburn; 10 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. His first wife, Meredith P. (Dana) Ordway and a sister, Priscilla Dunphy predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of George C. Ordway Sr. and lived in Millbury before moving to Douglas 10 years ago. He graduated from Mt. St. Charles Academy in Rhode Island.
Mr. Ordway was a railroad mechanical inspector for 37 years and worked for Amtrak in Providence, Rhode Island for 15 years. He sang with the Master Singers of Worcester.
He was member of the First Congregational Church in Millbury. He also sang in the churchTM)s choir and was on the music committee of the church.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11 in the First Congregational Church, 148 West Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery, West Millbury. Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 148 West Main St., Millbury, Ma. 01527.
