MILLBURY -AlLes Helen (Kline) Burke, 94, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Monday, February 13, with her loving live-in PCA, Hope Story, holding her hand. Through the help and support of the Nurses and Counselors of Salmon Hospice, Elder Services of Worcester, Dr. Seema Naravane and Staff of Reliant in Millbury, alternate PCA Nancy Thompson, and many others, AlLes spent her last days comfortably in her own home.
She had been the first wife of Henry W. Burke, who passed away in 2001. She leaves one daughter, Terry Burke Dotson of Millbury, and 2 sons, Scott W. Burke and his former wife, Debby Burke of Millbury, and Jeffrey A. Burke and his wife Suzie of Port St. Lucie, FL. She leaves 5 grandchildren, Dr. Terry Burke Dotson, PT, DPT of Las Vegas, NV, Jaclyn (Burke) Chaves and Duane S. Burke of Millbury, Kimberly Burke of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Christopher Burke of Vero Beach, FL. She also leave 5 great-grandchildren, Grant, Colton, and Brielle Chaves of Millbury, and Dominic and Kirah Burke of Vero Beach, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
AlLes graduated from Fanning High School in Worcester as a dressmaker. She worked as a seamstress for the Charles Kay Dress Shop and the House of Pitaci in Worcester, and later opened her own dress making and alteration shop using and sewing in her own satin ribbon label of "AlLes H. Burke". She also worked at Snyder Beef in Millbury, and Parker Manufacturing in Worcester and Northboro.
After retirement she loved sitting outside with her ducks and rabbits, watching her grandchildren, and seeing her family. She also enjoyed going to the Millbury Senior Center for coffee, lunch, Bingo, and went on trips to Foxwoods, Atlantic City, and day trips. She later also enjoyed her lunches, care and friendships at the Worcester Adult Day Care Center.
Service and burial are private. Mulhane home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester, MA 01607.
