Amelia Pearson

June 29, 1930 — June 13, 2002

SUTTON - Amelia E. (Leyh) Pearson, 71, of 27 DeWitt Rd., died Thursday, June 13, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after being stricken ill at home.

She leaves her husband of 46 years, Rudolph E. Pearson; three sons, David E. Pearson, Benjamin E. Pearson and Andrew E. Pearson all of Sutton; three daughters, Christine E. Pearson and Nancy E. Troy both of Sutton and Marie E. Rochon of Douglas; a brother, Michael Danks of New York; nine grandchildren. She was born in New York City, daughter of George and Hanorah M. (Collins) Leyh and has lived in Sutton for 46 years.
She graduated from New York City Foundling Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Pearson was a nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester prior to her marriage.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church and was active in church activities such as the church choir, church suppers, bake sales and was a very active in the the churches restoration fund raiser in 1980 which included a dress pagent. She was also active in the new addition fund raiser in 1987.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, in the First Congregational Church, on the common. Burial will be in West Sutton Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, ( www.mulhane.com ). Donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, on the common, Sutton, Ma. 01590.
