Amelia A. "Millie" (Lauzikas) Rawinski, 94, died Monday, April 30, 2012.
Her husband of 55 years, Joseph P. Rawinski died in 1993. She leaves two sons, J. Philip Rawinski and his wife Cheryl of Sutton and Dennis K. Rawinski and his late wife, Gail of Millbury and a daughter, Diane A. Richardson and her husband Stephen of Millbury; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents Charles and J. Elizabeth (Adams) Lauzikas, two grandchildren and a great grandchild. She graduated from the former Commerce High School and the David Hale Fanning School of Nursing, both in Worcester.
Amelia was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at the former St. Vincent Hospital and Worcester City Hospital and also worked at the family farm in West Millbury for over 20 years. Millie enjoyed gardening and fishing and also enjoyed spending over 50 years as a summer resident with family and friends at Saquish Beach in Plymouth. She truly loved the tranquility and people of this special place. She also spent many winters in Hollywood Florida. She was a member of the Millbury Women's Club, St. Brigid's Choir and the Green Harbor Tuna Club.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, May 5th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gurnet-Saquish Beach Association in care of Anna Hartwick, 20 Little John Dr., Billerica, MA 01821.
