Anna Kowszik

November 4, 1909 — June 19, 2002

WORCESTER - Anna R. (Zybas) Kowszik, 92, formerly of the elderly apartments on Upsala Street, died Wednesday, June 19, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.

Her husband, Wasil Bill Kowszik died in 1948. She leaves a son, George E. Kowszik of Sutton; a sister, Albina Proka of Pa. six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She is predeceased be a son, Anthony W. Kowszik Sr., two brothers, Anthony and Steven Zybas and a sister, Helen Novick . She was born in Worcester, daughter of George and Mary (Tamoliunas) Zybas and has lived in Worcester most of her life. She graduated from the Worcester Girls Trade High School.

Mrs. Kowszik was a supervisor at Telechron Co. in Worcester during WW II and then worked a several clothing manufacturing companies. During recent years she was a housekeeper at St. Catherine of Sweden Rectory, before retiring. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church.

The funeral will be held Friday, June 21, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, ( www.mulhane.com ) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 20, in the funeral home.
