In 1979, she returned to teaching and taught Home Economics in the Sutton Public School system for 22 years. During her 22 years at Sutton High School, she was coach for the first varsity girls' soccer team. The teams went on to win division state championships in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1996. Two of her players were high school All Americans. Anne was inducted into the Sutton High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. During summer vacations, she organized and chaperoned various student trips to France, Spain, Italy, Greece, England, and Ireland with EF Educational Tours. She took several trips to the Caribbean to either visit her sister in Montserrat or just to relax and enjoy the sand and sun in the Grand Caymans, St Thomas, Antigua, Trinidad, Tobago, and St John's. She also travelled with family to Italy, California, Florida, the Southwest, the Yellowstone Parks, and Canada. One of her favorite places to visit with her family was the Old Orchard Beach area in Maine. She had hoped to take a trip to Costa Rica and Hawaii someday.
She loved living in the town of Sutton and was always generous with her time whether it was knitting prayer shawls, bringing a meal to a sick friend or neighbor or listening and giving an encouraging word. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
