MILLBURY - Arthur J.Collette Jr., 73, of 15 Millbury Ave., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, in the Jewish Health Care Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife Eve E. (Patriquin) Collette; a son, Dean A. Collette of Sherman Oak, California; two daughters, Debra R. Collette-Grandone of Grafton and Robin L. Collette of Worcester; a brother, Robert Collette of Saugerties, New York; a sister, Lillian Devoe of Millbury; two grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a sister, Ruth Holmes. He was born in Millbury, son of Arthur J. Collette Sr. and Ruth (Bengtson) Collette and has lived here all his life. He graduated from Millbury High School in 1947, Worcester Junior College in 1967 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1971.
Mr. Collette was an personnel manager at New England High Carbon Wire Company where he worked for 32 years, until the company closed. He then worked at NESCO for five years, retiring in 1989. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War, serving in Germany and Guam.
He was a director and past president of the former Millbury Community fund and a former member of the Millbury Finance Committee.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the First Congregational Church, West Main St. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association of Central Mass.
