MILLBURY – Arthur W. "Bill" "Red" Ducharme, 68, died Friday, Dec.31st in the Millbury Health Care Center.
He leaves his wife, Lois M. (Boulais) Goyette Ducharme; his mother, Eloise P. (Glover) Ducharme of Millbury; eight children, Suzanne and her husband, Michael Coleman of PA, John Ducharme of Warren, Bill and his wife, Karen Ducharme of Millbury and Kristin and her husband Bob Bieri of CO; David and his wife, Joanne Goyette of Oxford, Jill Goyette of Worcester, Sharon and her husband, David Gregoire of Millbury, and Gail and her husband William Brown of AR; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kathy and her husband, James Moreau of ME, Shirley and her husband Norman Gaboriault of Millbury and Cynthia and her husband Dale Anderson of Spencer; nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his father, John A. Ducharme and his son, Paul Goyette.
He was a General Foreman for the New England Power Service CO., in charge of overhead lines, where he worked 34 years, before he retired. After he retired, Bill continued working as a licensed contractor and carpenter. He loved working on cars, and always helped family, neighbors and friends. Bill was the kind of man who wanted to help fill the needs of others. He did not wait to be asked nor did he expect anything in return. He was a true humanitarian. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a supporter of the Constitution of the United States. Animals were valued and he especially loved his Bishon Frise, Mabel.
His funeral service will be held 11a.m. Wednesday, January 5th in the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury Burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 4th in the funeral home.
