MILLBURY

Astrid Cronin, passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2021.  Astrid was born in 1936 in Arlington, Mass. to William and Marie Peterson.  She is predeceased by her husband of over 60 years Herbert F. Cronin and both of her parents.

Astrid grew up in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine and graduated from Foxcroft Academy.  After marrying Herbert, they made their home in Framingham for many years before moving to Boylston, Massachusetts.  Astrid leaves a legacy of her handmade quilts and paintings which she enjoyed passing on to others.  Astrid also appreciated her Swedish heritage.  Astrid and Herbert enjoyed helping others, delivering Meals on Wheels for many years in the Boylston area and sharing a love of animals.

Astrid’s daughters wish to thank Beaumont Northbridge and Karen Larson in particular, for the compassionate care shown to their mother.

Astrid is survived by her three daughters:  Sandra and Jeff Burr, Sr. and Smokey of Loudon, NH, Linda Cronin of Millbury, MA, and Janet and Hank Moran of North Grafton, MA.  She also leaves her three grandsons, Lt. Col. Charles and Dr. Sarah Shaw and her great grandchildren Cady Ann and Patrick of Papillion, Nebraska, Michael Shaw and Dara Aber-Ferri of Waterville, Vermont and Andrew and Reilly Shaw of Jeffersonville, Vermont.  She leaves her siblings William O. Peterson, Jr. of Maine, Nils R. Peterson of Maine, and Linda Eddinger of Pennsylvania and their families.

Services will be private, and Astrid will be buried next to her husband and best friend Herbert in Boylston, Mass.  The family requests no flowers and ask that you visit a family member or friend who is in long term care or assisted living facility.

A contribution to your local animal shelter would always be appreciated and welcome.
