MILLBURY - Audrey May (Conley) Mogren, 93 passed peacefully in her home on Saturday May 11th 2024, after a brief illness.
Her husband Randy, high school sweetheart and the love of her life predeceased her in 2009. She was born April 7th, 1931, to Victor F. and Mary B. (Green) Conley. She lived in Manchaug until 1939, when the family moved to Millbury. She graduated from Millbury High in 1949. She then graduated from the Salters Secretarial School and worked at the Worcester Court House. In later years she worked as the executive secretary for the director of Phi Kappa Theta and then secretary for the principal at the Spring Street School in Shrewsbury. After retiring, she met with her co-workers until a month before she passed.
She married Randy in 1954 and when he returned from Korea began a family with the birth of Mark in 1956. She was a member of the Federated Church for over 85 years and served on countless committees in support of the Church's mission. Audrey was part of the Church Youth Group that started the midnight Christmas Eve service and helped create the "phone tree" that was called upon to supply refreshments for Funerals and Wakes at the Church. Audrey and Randy put on countless Church roast beef Suppah's and were heavily involved with the Boy Scouts in the 60's, 70's and 80's. She volunteered at the Church Food Pantry and worked with them until she could no longer walk. Audrey was a Sunday School teacher and a youth leader with Randy. She co-chaired the Women's Fellowship and was a teacher in the weekday kindergarten and pre-school program at the Federated Church. She was a member of a group of 10 that met almost daily at Dunkin Donuts for several years all over the age of 80 and graduates of Millbury High.
Audrey and Randy traveled extensively and visited Europe several times and when traveling the US, made it a point to schedule the trips when the Patriots were playing in that city. Audrey, to the envy of many saw her "Pats" play in practically every NFL stadium all the while knitting one of her grandchildren a new hat or sweater. She also traveled with "The Girls", Florence Powers, Mary Joan Boire, Betty LeClaire, Ginny Lowe and others who occasionally accompanied them on their adventures. She was a very good cook and was the Coleslaw Queen of Scales restaurant and her signature dessert was Cream Puffs with a killer Hot Fudge.
Audrey is survived by her four children, Mark and wife Casey Mogren of Newburyport, Scott and wife Susan Mogren, Todd and Randy and his wife Karen Mogren. She leaves 13 grandchildren, Ali and her husband Brett Aylward, Matthew Mogren, Grace Mogren, Kelly and her husband Sebastian Welsh, Myles Mogren, Curtis and his wife Cora Mogren, Lee Mogren, Benjamin Mogren, Jessy Mogren, Paige Mogren, Meredith and her husband Mark Hollis, Randy Mogren and Nicholas Mogren. 5 great grandchildren, Peter Hollis, Wesley Hollis, Sullivan Welsh, Luke Welsh and Ella Audrey Aylward along with several aunts, uncles and cousins including Mary (Whipple) Revolier who was a lifelong friend.
