Barbara Beaton

SUTTON - Barbara B. (Batcheller) Beaton, 86, of 46 Waters Road, died Sunday, April 22, in her home after a brief illness.

Her husband, Alfred T. Beaton died in 1994. She leaves a son, Bradford T. Beaton and a daughter, Pamela B. Graves, both of Sutton; a sister, Alice Lowe of Ft. Myers Beach Fl.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Graves Witherell, Amanda Graves, Jonathan and Katherine Beaton; nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by a brother, F. Lincoln Batcheller and three sisters, Elizabeth Batcheller, Phyllis MacLaren and Harriet Gibson. She was born in Sutton, daughter of Fred L. and Florence (Merritt) Batcheller and has lived here all her life. She graduated from Sutton High School in 1930.

Mrs. Beaton was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Sutton, the Daughters of the American Revolution and a charter member of the Sutton Young Womans Club. She also participated in the Waters Farm Restoration Project.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, in the First Congregational Church, Boston Rd., on the Common. Burial will be in West Sutton Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, Boston Rd., Sutton, Ma. 01590, or to the Waters Farm Restoration Fund, 4 Uxbridge Rd., Sutton, Ma. 01590 or to the UMASS Memorial Hospice, 43 Harvard St., Worcester, Ma. 01609.
