MILLBURY– Barbara L. LaBreck, a lifelong resident of Millbury, passed away peacefully at 87, on Thursday, November 10, 2022 surrounded by family in her home.
Barbara was the daughter of Roland N. Dunn and Lucille N. (Vigeant) Dunn and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. LaBreck. She is survived by her children Michael LaBreck and his wife Denise of Worcester, Sandra LaBreck of Sutton, Paul LaBreck of Worcester and Marie Colangelo and her husband Robert of Shrewsbury; grandchildren, Kara, Stacie, PJ, Andrew, Steven and Brooke; great grandchildren, Liam and Colin and brother Thomas Dunn of Darien, Connecticut. She is preceded in death by brothers, Robert Dunn and Roland Dunn.
Barbara graduated from Millbury High School where she exceled and proudly held the role of the high school band’s drum majorette loving all the competitions and sharing her spirit and winning smile. She worked for many years at the Millbury Savings Bank retiring at the age of 75, while at the same time always devoted to being there for her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. Although being with family was the most important to her, she also enjoyed her many travels throughout the states and abroad. She was an avid Red Sox fan, loyal Foxwoods patron, enjoyed reading, playing cards and was always up for a good crossword challenge and truly enjoyed life to the fullest.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mom’s personal aides – Mary, Rachel and Denise who truly went above and beyond to care for, encourage, laugh with and simply be her friend. She loved each of you and you all brought great joy to her life in the last several years.
Barbara’s faith was a very important part of her life and she was a member of St. Brigid’s Church. Her life will be celebrated with her Funeral Mass on Monday, Nov. 21st at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid’s Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury. A private burial will be held at a later date.
