Barbara O'Brien

MILLBURY - Barbara M. (Dwinell) O'Brien, 90, died Friday, Nov. 25th at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

Her husband Thomas F. O'Brien died in 1998. She leaves a brother-in-law, Francis Gaudere of Millbury and 22 nieces and nephews, among which is Jean Crizer, Mary Daniels, Patricia Carlo and William Gaudere; many great nieces and nephews. She was God-Mother to 4 nieces and nephews. She was born in Millbury and is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Sadie (Army) Dwinell, her brothers, Harold, Earl, Richard, and Robert Dwinell and her sisters, Hazel Weldon, Martha Bekier and Bernice Gaudere.

Barbara worked at Shawmut Worcester County Bank for 34 years, retiring as Executive Secretary in 1991. She was a member of St. Brigid Church, the former St. Brigid's Women's Club and was a singer with the Millbury Council on Aging. For many years she made the baptism outfits for the babies being baptized at St. Brigid Church.
She graduated from Millbury High School in 1944 and was married in 1961 and has lived in Millbury all her life. Her family would like to thank VNA Hospice team and the staff at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday Nov. 29th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the funeral Mass in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. Millbury, MA 01527 or to the Friends of the Millbury Seniors, 1 River St. Millbury, MA 01527.
