SUTTON-Barbara M. (Goyette) Robbins, 86, passed away on April 23, 2020, after a long illness.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard T. Robbins, of 53 years, and daughter, Tracy E. Robbins. She leaves two sons, Clay T. Robbins of Sutton, and Glenn P. Robbins and his wife, Alice of Clovis, California; and three daughters, Dale V. Robbins of Boston, Lynn M. Robbins of Ashland, MA, and Mary C. Whittier and her husband, Wayne of Sutton. She was born in New York City and is predeceased by her parents, Raymond Homer Goyette and Georgette (DeBow) Goyette, and her brother, John Goyette.
Barbara attended Walton All-Girls High School in the Bronx and graduated from Oxford High School.
Until her retirement in 2004, she worked as an executive assistant for Mid-State Insurance in Worcester and, before that, Travelers Insurance, also in Worcester.
Barbara traveled extensively in Ireland. She loved Irish music and dancing with her husband, Richard. She also traveled widely throughout the U.S. with favorite trips to Alaska and the Smoky Mountains.
Barbara was active in Girl Scouting and Boy Scouting serving as a troop leader. She also taught first aid classes for the American Red Cross.
A private graveside service will be held in St. Roch’s Cemetery, in Oxford.
