MILLBURY – Barbara M. (Mains) Stansbury, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 6th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Her husband, Phillip R. Stansbury died in 2003. She leaves three children, Scott P. Stansbury and his wife, Jacqueline of Lowell, Pamela Stansbury and her partner, Raymond Pompilio of Ithaca, NY and Wendy A. Stansbury-O'Donnell and her husband Mark of St. Paul, MN and a grandson Benjamin; a brother, Donald Morrison of West Windsor, VT; nieces and nephews. She was born in Boston, and is predeceased by her parents, Walter I. Mains Sr. and Dorothy S. (Russell) Mains, her brother, Walter Mains Jr. and a sister, Patricia Mains.
Barbara was a head cook for the Millbury School Department where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a life-long member of the First Congregational Church and a member of the Adah Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #15. She was very involved with her children in Camp Fire, Rainbow, and Scouting.
Her Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday May 14th in the First Congreagational Church, 148 West Main St. in Millbury. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 148 West Main St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to the Tompkins County SPCA, Hanshaw Rd. Ithaca, NY, 14850.
