Barbara A. (Stewart) Young, 81, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in the Golden Living Center – The Hermitage, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara leaves her husband of 62 years, Robert D. Young; two daughters, Joan M. Young and her husband Michael of Stafford Springs, CT and Elizabeth M. James of Northbridge; three sons, Robert D. Young, Jr., William S. Young both of Millbury and Stephen C. Young and his wife, Lisa of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Stacie, Barbara, Mary, Katie, Jared, Amanda and Sarah; four great grandchildren; a brother, Russell Stewart of Worcester; three sisters, Alberta Esposito of FL, Carol Ginese of Worcester and Nancy Courtney of Millbury; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Gavin; two son, Daniel T. Young and Tommy Young and a grandson, Jamie Gavin.
Barbara proudly raised her children at home for over 40 years, later in life she worked for the Millbury District Nursing Society as a Home Health Aide for 16 years. Barbara and her husband enjoyed square dancing and she was a member of the Sutton Country Squares for 15 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Brigid Church in Millbury.
Barbara's funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be private. Her calling hours will be held tonight Friday, Sept. 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Golden Living Center – The Hermitage Activities Fund, 383 Mill Street, Worcester, MA 01602.
