MILLBURY – Barry G. Fjellman, 53, died Saturday, July 18th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 28 years, Debra P. (Dame) Fjellman; a brother, Brian E. Fjellman; nieces and nephews; cousins; uncles and aunts; and his beloved cats. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Edwin C. and Ruth A. (Belsito) Fjellman.

Barry grew up on his family's dairy farm in West Millbury. He discovered his ability to fix just about anything while very young, which led him to his career as an auto mechanic. Barry attended Blackstone Valley High School, studying auto repair. He worked at various shops, including Millbury Ford, where he was employed for 20 years until being disabled in a snowmobile accident. Barry enjoyed tractor pulling, collecting antique tractors, and everything to do with John Deere. His love of cooking, and making delicious dishes pleased everybody around him. He was a generous person, with a big heart, who would help anyone in need.

Barry was a trustee for the West Millbury Union Chapel, and was on the committee to restore Grass Hill Schoolhouse. He was a member of the Auburn Elks, and a former member of Auburn Sportsmen's Club, having run the kitchen during events for several years. Barry also was a past member of Hosanna Christian Fellowship, where he assisted in the leadership of the Royal Rangers.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23rd in the West Millbury Union Chapel, 315 West Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22nd in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery in West Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St. Worcester, MA 01606.
