WORCESTER - Bernard W. Kasavich, 90, of 47 Upland St., died Sunday, July 27, in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester medical Center.
He leaves his wife of 69 years, Statia (Petka) Kasavich; a son, Richard B. Kasavich of Holden; a daughter, Lillian M. Bruneau of Worcester; three sisters, Jennie McCullam of East Douglas, Eva Janzek of Plainfield, Ct. And Rita Scott of Needham; three grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother and two sisters, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Bernard and Antoinette (Kasper) Kasavich and has lived in Worcester, most of his life.
Mr. Kasavich was a steel worker at U.S. Steel for 34 years, retiring in 1975. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, and he was a member of their drill team and boxing team.
He was a founding member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 30 from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, (

) with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery, Millbury. A calling hour will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MarineTM)s Toys for Tots, 25th Marines, 640 Plantation St., Worcester, Ma. 01605.
