WORCESTER / SUTTON – Bernice T. (Tanona) Gill, 93, formerly of Arlington St. in Worcester, died Tuesday, Sept. 29th in Radius Health Care Center in Worcester.

Her husband, Stanley Gill died in 1980. She leaves two daughters, Joan B. Jamros-Thomas of Sutton, with whom she lived and Janice A. Army of Sutton; a son, Paul Gill and his wife, Patricia of Worcester; a sister, Therese Metcalf and her husband Edwin of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Nellie Fesuk and her husband Steve of California; five grandchildren,; four great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Hilary and Olga (Alchimovicz) Tanona, a sister, Hattie Kuczka and a brother, Edmund "Danny" Tanona.

Mrs. Gill was a press operator at Parker Manufacturing Co. in Worcester, for 30 years before she retired. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Retired Club and the Millbury Council on Aging. She loved to crochet, bake, flowers, travel extensively and above all, she loved her family. Bernice enjoyed her crafts at Summit Elder Care In Charlton, where she was known as Miss Friday.

Her funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 5th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. in Worcester. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum in Worcester. Calling hours will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, in the funeral home, prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund of the Summit Elder Care, 88 Masonic Road, Charlton, MA 01507.
