MILLBURY - Bernice J. (Wales) Gardner Walsh, 86, of 95 Elm St., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the V.N.A. Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Rd., Worcester.
Her husband, Merchant Marine Captain Stanley J. Walsh, died in 1972. Her first husband, Howard L. Gardner, died in 1955. She leaves a son, Gary H. Gardner of Millbury; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by a daughter, Carol Gardner who died in 1951. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Charlotte (Butler) Wales and has lived in Millbury for 30 years.
Mrs. Walsh was a secretary at Thompson Wire Co. in Worcester for several years, retiring in 1962.
She was a member of St. BrigidTM)s Church. During her marriage to her second husband, they traveled to many ports throughout the world, including being in Vietnam in 1969, during the war
A funeral with be held Friday, Dec. 7, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the V.N.A. Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Rd., Worcester, Ma.
