Bertha Lee

August 30, 1915 — February 28, 2007

MILLBURY Bertha T. (Duhamel) Aubrey Lee, 91, formerly of 95 Elm St., went to join our Lord on Feb. 28, 2007.

She is survived by her children, Paul W. and his wife Judith Aubrey of Shrewsbury, Robert E. Lee Jr. and his wife Elaine and Raymond P. Lee all of Millbury, Linda E. wife of William Carig of Sandwich, Janet M. Parker of Millbury, Deborah Couture and her fiancee Rawlin of Templeton, Richard E. Lee of West Brookfield, Thomas M. Lee of Douglas and Nancy Luby of West Millbury; nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Garriepy of Millbury and Amy Shepard of Worcester; many nieces and nephews and two cousins, Doris Gemme and Lorraine Zuidema. She was born in Marlborough on Aug. 30, 1915 and is predeceased by her parents Oscar and Edith (Knight) Duhamel, a son, David A. Lee, her grandson, Keith W. Carig, her step-father, Peter St. John and two brothers, Alfred St. John and Louis Pitchman and her sister, Doris LaPerle.

Bertha lived in Worcester until 1947, when she moved to Millbury. She was educated in Worcester at Grafton Street Junior High and the former Commerce High School. During WW II Bertha worked at American Steel and Wire Co. and at FairbankTM)s Engineering. She was a member of St. BrigidTM)s Church and a member and vice president of its former WomanTM)s Club. She was the past president and member of the Auxiliary of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post, a member of the Millbury Golden Age Club, Friends of the Millbury Seniors and Millbury Council of Aging. Bertha enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading, baking and spending time with her family. She was very much loved and will be truly missed by those who cared for her.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, March 3rd from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2nd in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury 01527 or to the Friends of the Millbury Seniors, 1 River St., Millbury, MA 01527.
