MILLBURY Betty A. (Roy) O'Gassian, 58, died Tuesday, October 19th in her home surrounded by her family, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Betty leaves her husband, Mark J. O'Gassian; four children, Lynn Sosvielle and her husband Joseph of Oxford, Jennifer Morgan and her husband Martin of Oxford, Matthew Lachapelle of Sutton and Sara Toedt and her husband Matthew of Oxford; her mother, Ruth (Lebel) Roy of Millbury; five grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Sydnie, Maxwell and Katelyn; two sisters, Jackie Courtemanche of Whitinsville and Sandra Roy of Sutton; two brothers, David Roy and Michael Roy both of Millbury; nieces and nephews. Betty was born in Whitinsville and is predeceased by her father, Donald Roy and her grandson, Joshua Lachapelle.
Betty worked at Pine Grove Villa Nursing Home in Millbury for many years and Pleasant Valley Country Club for 8 years. She loved gardening, writing journals, camping, decorating, shopping, lunches, the casino, working, going to the beach and most of all spending time with her family.
Betty's funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 22nd at 10 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21st in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01701.
