Betty I. (Braman) Stockwell, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, Oct. 20th in St. Vincent Hospital after a brief illness.
Betty's husband of 62 years, Robert L. Stockwell passed away in 2011. She leaves two children, Jody Stockwell-Jerszyk and her husband, Robert Sr. of Millbury, with whom she lived and Jay Stockwell and his wife Charlene of Sutton, her loving granddaughter, Noelle Stockwell; her constant companion, Juniper "the poodle"; sister and brother-in-law, Jeri and Ron Stead of Millbury; nieces and nephews;. She is predeceased by a son, Jonathan Stockwell and her sister, Margaret Golas.
Betty graduated from Millbury High School. She worked as a secretary to the Vice President of the former Thread Mill in Bramanville. Betty was co-owner with her husband of Stockwell Testing Lab Inc. until her retirement in 2003. She was very active in the Millbury Women's Club and the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. Betty was the oldest living member of Millbury First Congregational Church. She enjoyed word searches, cooking and hosting her family and friends at her home.
The family would like to thank the angels of 24 North at St. Vincent Hospital for all their care during her final hours.
Betty's graveside service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29th at 11 a.m. in West Millbury Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
