Blanche M. (Grenier) LaCrosse, 93, died peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Home in Northbridge. Born on November 27, 1923, the daughter of the late Alfred and Marie Louise (Chausse) Grenier. She grew up in Millbury, where she met and married her husband Charles M. LaCrosse. They were married for 55 years. They spent many years in their North Grafton home enjoying working in their yard and gardens, watching the Red Sox and candle pin bowling together.
Blanche was predeceased by her husband Charles, who died in 2001, her sister Annette LaBrie of South Grafton, two brothers, Raymond and Roger Grenier of Millbury. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Clara Grenier and brother-in-law, Robert LaCrosse both of Millbury. Her two beloved nieces, Judith Fagan of Shrewsbury and Sandra Cadrin of Whitinsville; great and great grand nephews and nieces for whom she adored as they brought her joy and laughter for many years.
Blanche was a retail clerk at Zayre’s Department Store in Worcester for 22 years before retiring in 1989. She loved preparing and hosting family gatherings, especially for the holidays. She loved doing crafts and her talent was reflected in her home. She loved animals and had a soft spot in her heart for dogs. Her greatest passion was her love of family. She will be remembered as a loving woman, kind and compassionate with a heart of gold. She enjoyed the simple things in life and giving of herself was one of them. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the many who cared for her during her time in the nursing home. The family would like to thank the staff of the 2nd floor Mason at Beaumont Nursing home for their love, care and compassion during her three years in residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 18, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St. in Millbury. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
