Brian P. "Archie" McArdle. 60, passed away in his home Monday, August 1st after a long and courageous struggle with heart disease.

Brian is predeceased by his father, Vincent "Bud" McArdle who died in 1990. He leaves his mother Marjorie E. (LeClaire) McArdle; his wife, Tina and four children, Sara McArdle, Daniel McArdle, Michael McArdle and Kevin McArdle; six siblings, Nancy (McArdle) Watts, James McArdle, Kevin McArdle, Dennis McArdle, Eileen (McArdle) Dana and Timothy McArdle and six grandchildren.

Archie graduated from Millbury Memorial High School, was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Millbury and went on to enlist in the United States Army, serving a number of years in Germany having advanced to the rank of Sergeant. He completed his military service at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, Maryland. He remained in Maryland after being honorably discharged, continued his volunteer fire fighting service in Joppa Magnolia Fire Company and worked for years as a successful HVAC professional. Interested in emergency medicine, he earned his Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from Harford Community College in Bel Air, MD. He spent many enjoyable years working in the Emergency Department of both the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air and the Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore.

His funeral service will be Saturday, August 13th, with a Funeral Mass at Noon in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Brian's memory and to recognize the remarkable care he received from all the cardiac ICU doctors, nurses and staff at each of the hospitals who helped him get through his most difficult days can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005 or online donations may be made at www.heart.org .
