Bruce W. Blake, 59, passed away Friday, July 25th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Bettyanne M. (Jones) Blake; a son, Christopher W. Blake and his wife, Elizabeth; granddaughters, Leah and Hannah; his parents, Vance G. and Nancy (Pike) Blake; his siblings, Robert Blake, and his wife, Anita and Dr. Carol Blake and her husband, Diego Hernandez; nieces and nephews.
Bruce was a man who truly was greater than the sum of his parts. He was devoted to his family, friends and faith. He was an avid outdoor explorer with a thirst for adventure, a teacher and philosopher to a generation of scouts, a poet, and a kind heart that always had time for others. He was a window to the good in others and a mirror to the best in yourself. He inspired many during his life, and will continue to do so in death. Bruce was employed at Ricoh USA, where he was valued employee for 12 years.
His funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, July 29th in the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St. in Millbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St. Millbury, MA 01527 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the Appalachian Mountain Club 5 Joy St., Boston, Ma, 02108.
