C. J. "Chilly" Muscatell, 87, died peacefully Tuesday June 24th, after surviving his longtime loving wife Doris, who died in 1989.
He is survived by his only son, Rev. Rande Muscatell: three grandchildren, Michael, Christina and Rande Dominic and two great grandchildren, Hyan and Tristan, all of the Carolinas; his brother, Francis Muscatell of Whitinsville and his 22 year special love Rose Moss, of Millbury. He was preceded by his sister Margaret M. "Peggy" (Muscatell) Knapik, who died in 2007, after a short illness.
Chilly was born in Millbury in 1927 and was educated in Millbury schools. He retired as foreman, after 30 years from Reed and Prince of Worcester and then continued his working abilities with the Millbury School Department for 21years, primarily at Windle Field as grounds sculptor. He also leaves his longtime dearest friends from the VFW of Millbury and the American Legion of Sutton, which kept the happiness in his life, being one of the very few New York Yankee fans in each establishment as well as being a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Chilly's loved ones from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday July 1st at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. His funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2nd at St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
