Carolyn Taylor

MILLBURY - Carolyn F. Taylor, age 82, passed away peacefully at UMASS Medical Center on Sunday, December 4th after a valiant 7-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Carolyn leaves a daughter Karen E. Taylor, an older brother Walter R. Taylor and his wife Dorothy, and an older sister Sally E. Taylor all of Millbury.

She also leaves 3 nephews, Richard J. and his wife, Rosemary Taylor of West Boylston and their sons Dylan of West Boylston and Cory and his wife Elyana of Worcester.

David W. and his wife, Gima Taylor of Huntersville, NC and their daughter Nicole of Raleigh, NC and William T. Taylor of Rutland.

She also leaves many cousins and friends from Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Florida.

Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Frances C. Taylor and her sister Barbara May Taylor.

She was a lifelong resident of Millbury and graduated from Millbury High School. Carolyn started her work life at the former Felters Company in Millbury and then for the Massachusetts Easter Seals Society, Worcester for 41 years where she worked as the Executive Assistant to the President and directed the Massachusetts Easter Seals Worcester Telethon and then the Springfield Telethon for many years.  She retired in 2011.

Carolyn had a deep faith and loved her family and friends fiercely. She also enjoyed making holiday feasts, planning trips and traveling, reading, trying different crafts, coloring, and sports.  She had a huge love of the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots and she loved chatting and sharing her wide knowledge of them.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Carolyn’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, December 12th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.

Her funeral service will be celebrated at the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St., Millbury on Tuesday, December 13th at 11 a.m. with her burial to follow in Central Cemetery, West Street, Millbury.
