A Remembrance of Catherine J. Nadeau
by her sisters, Lily Leo and Mary Meredith
First, we'd like to thank Steve for asking us to express a few thoughts about Cathy. We're honored to do it.
Cathy's death was so sudden, so unexpected, and so tragic that we keep thinking a mistake was made, and we're waiting for God to take it back.
We know that Cathy would not want us to go on filled with such overwhelming sadness but to remember her in happy times and to be thankful for all the years God did give her to us all. We're praying today for Cathy's family that we all find the strength inside us to make this happen.
Cathy was a wonderful, giving, and beautiful woman who lived her life for her family.
Steve and Cathy were married for 31 years -- a great accomplishment. They weathered the hard times, enjoyed the good times, and stayed together through it all. That is a remarkable bond you can only be thankful for. You must be very proud, Steve.
Just like the song, "It Takes Two."
Two to make every good thing better.
Two to make these four extraordinary children, both inside and out, as we all can see. They are a testament to the kind of love Steve and Cathy had – the kind of love that comes from years of being together and working together for the betterment of everyone.
To their four beautiful children, Alicyn, Brooke, Shane, and Cassandra – There was nothing your mother wouldn't do for you. She loved each and every one of you so much, and she was so proud of you and your accomplishments. Cassie -- As the youngest child, we know how close you and your Mom were to each other. You had her heart Cassie. There's just no other way to put it. Your Mom loved you and cared for you that much.
Devon -- your Nana was so excited when she knew you were coming to visit or to spend the night. She'd call me up and we'd be off to the market to get snacks and dinner for you. Your Nana enjoyed you and loved you so much.
Theresa -- Cathy loved the pleasure of your talks and your company. Your words and cards meant so much to her, and they came when Cathy needed them most. You were just like a daughter to her. She told me so. We're so happy you had each other's company for as long as you did. She loved you.
Mary, Paul, and I have lost yet another sister. We thought we'd grow old together but God had another plan. We can only thank Him for giving Cathy to us for 51 years.
Sleep well Cathy and someday we will all be together again. But for now Cathy, you're our little angel. And yes, we will see each other again. As Christians, we do believe that God has a bigger plan for us.
That's a promise little sister. That's a promise!
All our love,
Lily and Mary
