Cecily G. Martiros

Cecily G. Martiros, age 87, of Millbury, Mashpee, and Shrewsbury, Massachusetts passed away on March 17th in Shrewsbury. She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of Roy and Genevieve (Chapdelaine) Needham. She grew up in Millbury and graduated from Millbury High School in 1955 and from Salter’s School in Worcester two years later. In 1959, she married William Martiros and they lived for sixteen years in Worcester and Shrewsbury before moving to Cape Cod in 1976. She worked for many years in the Mashpee Public School System.

Cecily was predeceased by her husband, William, and her brother David Needham. She leaves her children Stephen (Heather) Martiros, Carolyn (Andrew) Moring, Christopher (Kathleen) Martiros, Thomas Martiros; her grandchildren Kathryn (Chris) Patten, Andrew Moring, Megan Martiros, Merissa Martiros, Nicholas Martiros, Mikaela Martiros, Lucas Martiros, Alexandra Martiros; her great-grandchildren John Patten and Grace Patten; her sister-in-law Janet Needham; and her nieces and nephews Gregory Martiros, Michael Martiros, Richard Martiros, Sandra Hartwell, Heather Walles, Kathy Rivera and their families, all of whom she dearly loved. Anyone who knew Cecily would agree that her most distinguishing characteristic was her ever-present and universal kindness.

A private service will be held at Millbury Federated Church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester, Massachusetts.
