Charles E. “Eddie” Desrosiers, Sr., 81, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Millbury, MA passed peacefully August 19th, surrounded by his family, while on vacation in Millbury.
He leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara A. (Myers) Desrosiers and four children, Peg Houghton and husband Mike, Judy Southland and husband Dave, Charles “Chuck” Desrosiers, Jr. and wife Tammy and Bill Desrosiers and wife, Lisa. He also leaves ten grandchildren, Jen Nelson and partner Therese Sloane, Susan Bradley and husband Bill, Erika Tierney and husband Ryan, Chris Houghton and wife Merralena, Nicholas Mish and wife Sara, DeAnna Houghton, Adam Desrosiers, Bryan Desrosiers, Zachary Desrosiers and Jessica Desrosiers. He was blessed with 10 great grandchildren. He leaves his brother and best friend Homer Derosier and wife Anita. Eddie was born in Worcester, son of Homer and Margaret (Steffen) Derosier and was predeceased by his sisters Marie Derosier and Marilyn Grazulis.
He lived most of his life in Millbury, actively involved in Boy Scouts Packs 97, 108 and 109. He moved to Florida after retiring from Bay State Abrasives and remained an avid Red Sox fan. He was a longtime member of the Worcester Surfcasting Club and enjoyed many years of fishing and camping on the Cape Cod Canal.
His Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29th in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main St. in Millbury. There are no calling hours and burial will be private. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family with the arrangements.
