Charles W. Howard, 95, died peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Millbury Healthcare Center.
His wife of 56 years, Ruth B. (Berger) Howard died in 1998. He leaves two sons, Charles W. Howard, Jr. of Las Vegas and David L. Howard and his wife, Tina of Oxford; a daughter, Kathleen R. Boggs and her husband, Brian of Mountain View, CA; four grandchildren, David and Matthew Boggs, Jason and Brian Howard; two great grandchildren, Ainsley and Parker Boggs; nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Agnes (Johnston) Howard and four brothers, Harold, John, Joseph and Stephen.
Charles worked for many years for the State of Massachusetts Department of Public Works. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Charles was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Devoe-Taylor American Legion Post #9. He was a member of the Massachusetts Freemasons and achieved the Degree of Master Mason. Charles enjoyed fishing, reading and the outdoors.
Charles's calling hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 29th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30th at 11 a.m. in the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
