MILLBURY – Charles H. Norbeck, 91, died Monday, May 14th in the Millbury Health Care Center.
He leaves his wife of 70 years, Virginia M. (Pepin) Norbeck; two daughters, Janet L. Cassidy and her husband Jim of Millbury and Marcia Norbeck and her late husband Paul Burrows of Sutton; four grandchildren, Mykael Cassidy, Erin Cassidy Sibley and her husband Patrick, Matthew Cassidy and his wife Elizabeth and Lorin Burrows and his wife Mary; three great grandchildren. Rachel Sibley, Benjamin Burrows and Amelia Burrows; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Helmer and Mary (Jordan) Norbeck, his infant daughter, Mary Frances, a brother William Norbeck and two sisters, Florence Cooper and Alice Bebka. Charles has lived in Millbury since 1956.
Mr. Norbeck was a foreman at Wyman-Gordon Company where he worked for 31 years, retiring in 1983. He was an Army Veteran during WW II serving in the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaigns. Charles was a member of the Wyman Gordon 25 Year Club, the Greendale Men's Club and was a Square Dancer for many years.
A calling hour will held 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, May 18th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. A funeral service will be held immediately following the calling hour at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Reverend Paul LaPalme officiating. Burial will be private in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
