WORCESTER Chester S. Skowronski, 90, formerly of Marion Ave. and Upsala St., died Saturday, Jan. 22nd in St. Camillus Nursing Center, Whitinsville.
His wife of 60 years, Mary A. (Pianowski) Skowronski died in 1997. He was loved and will be sorely missed by his son, Chester R. Skowronski and his daughter-in-law, Carole A. Skowronski of Sutton and of Murrells Inlet. S.C.; a sister, Helen Danko of Sutton; three grandchildren, Carole Stevenson of Sutton, Chester Skowronski Jr. of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Colleen Parker of Awandaw, S.C.; nine great grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Kevin and Sarah Stevenson of Sutton and Zachary, Tucker and Austin Parker of Awandaw, S.C. and Brittany and Chester Skowronski III of Murrells Inlet, S.C.. He also leaves his devoted nephew, Benjamin Skowronski Jr. of Sutton and six nephews and four nieces. He is predeceased by two brothers, Benjamin and Edward Skowronski and a sister, Jeanne Danko. He was born Dec. 17, 1914 in Worcester, son of Alexander F. and Frances (Dymek) Skowronski and lived in Worcester most of his life, moving to Sutton in 1997. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School.
Mr. Skowronski was a police officer for the city of Worcester for many years, before retiring as a police officer. He then was a truck driver for United Distributing before retiring. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #170.
His funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 27th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26th, in the funeral home.
