Christian Banfill

MILLBURY – Christian W. Banfill, 73, passed away peacefully on March 6th at UMass Hospital after a short illness, surround by his loving family.

Christian leaves his wife, Pauline C. (Lussier) Banfill; his children, Christian and Armand Banfill both of CA, Denise Palmer of Millbury, Joanne Gauvin and her husband, James of Sutton, Theresa Slade of Worcester, Marc Tessier and his wife, Michelle of Auburn; grandchildren, Jeremy and his companion, Kandi, Eric, Tiffany and her husband, Jesse, Shawn and his wife, Joanne, Christopher and his wife, Gina, Alex and Kayla; great grandchildren, Ryan, Emmanuel, Julian, Kaylee and Eli; siblings, Alma Chase of Grafton, Ruth Nordstrom of South Grafton, Eva Nicholas of Auburn, Edward Banfill of Idaho, Richard Banfill of CA and Brian Banfill and his wife, Diane of Brookfield; many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his father Edward Banfill, his mother, Violet Dakin; brothers, Ingram, Ancel, Hilbert, Ronald; sisters, Una, Marion and Neomi.

Chris drove a charter bus for over 30 years and served in the United States Navy for four years.  He was a member of the 414 American Legion Post in Sutton.  Chris enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, going on vacations and cruises with his wife and family.  He also enjoyed playing cards with his sisters and grocery shopping, hitting each store to get all the sales.  Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, as he was a big kid at heart.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Chris’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Sunday, March 12th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Grafton.
