DAVENPORT, FL – Christie Ligor Pojani, passed away peacefully on the 15th of March 2025, in Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Winter haven Florida
Christie leaves behind his daughter, Lisa Morton and her husband Cole, son, Michael Pojani and his wife Debbie, daughter, Karen O’Donnell, daughter Christann Pojani-Martin and her husband Glenn Martin; grandchildren, Ryan O’Donnell, Michael Pojani, James Martin and Maria Martin.
He is predeceased by his parents, siblings and wife, Ellen Irene Pojani, grandson Zachary Boken, granddaughter, Erin O’Donnell and son in law, John O’Donnell.
Born on October 20, 1925 in Worcester Massachusetts. He lived in Millbury, Massachusetts for most of his adult life before retiring to Davenport, Florida. He was part-owner of The New Yorker Restaurant in Auburn, MA with his brothers, Hank and George Pojani from 1947-1970. He then became a teacher at Keefe Technical Vocational School in Framingham for 18 years before retiring in 1987.
Christie was a member of St. Mary’s Albanian Orthodox Church in Worcester MA for many years. He served in the United States Navy Air Force in the South Pacific Theatre from 3/16/44 to 5/18/46. He was also a member of Olive Branch Lodge Masons, Scottish Rite Mason, PP ADAH Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, National Ski Patrol, Past member of Troop 109 committee and merit badge officer, Millbury Corporation Bank Board and Massachusetts Teachers Association.
He loved golfing, skiing, camping and fishing with his family and friends.
