MILLBURY – Clifford N. Nelson, 82, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary V. (Hamilton) Nelson, who passed in 2002. He leaves a daughter, Cynthia Hayes and her husband, Edmond of Shrewsbury; three sons, David S. Nelson of Parkman, ME, Eric C. Nelson and his wife, Paula of Tustin, CA and Peter N. Nelson and his wife, Maria of Winter Springs, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Ann Bignall and her husband, Victor of AR; four nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Mr. Nelson worked in the cable & wire industry for over 40 years as a mechanical engineer and a metallurgist for J & S Metals. He was a plant supervisor for Rathbone Corp. and New England High Carbon Wire Company in Millbury. He was a Communion Steward and life- long member of the Millbury Federated Church. Cliff loved to travel, fishing in Alaska and taking cross county trips with his family. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War serving in Germany. He was a wonder father and husband and was dedicated to his family.
Calling hours will held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 20th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 21st in the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be private in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
