MILLBURY - Craig L. Magnuson, 64, died Sunday, Jan. 20th from complications due to a long battle with lung cancer.
He leaves his wife and best friend, Lise M. (Belisle) Magnuson, his mother Evelyn (Anderson) Magnuson-Reed of Sutton, a son Jeffrey Magnuson and his wife Jill of Sutton, a daughter, Wendy Kendrick and her partner Benjamin Pearson of Webster, a step-daughter, Julie (Sullivan) Melito and her husband Stephen of Salem, New Hampshire, and a step-son Michael Sullivan and his partner Jennifer Paquette of Worcester. He also leaves a sister, Janet Clawson and her husband Thomas, of Millbury and four grandchildren, Cameron, Liberty, Mia and Sean, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He is pre-deceased by his father, Walter L. Magnuson, Jr. and his step-father, John G. Reed.
Craig was an Eagle Scout from Troup 109, Millbury. He graduated from Worcester Junior and Nichols College. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he worked for the Massachusetts Hospital Association. He then worked at Anglo Fabrics and A & M Engineered Products as Personnel Manager before becoming a Compliance Officer for the U. S. Department of Labor OSHA. He retired in 2010.
Craig enjoyed travelling with his wife, golf, campfires and boat rides, and his grandchildren, and had a special place in his heart for the times he spent rebuilding his 1966 GTO with his son, Jeff.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26th in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery.
