AUBURN - Cristino A. Rucci, 74, of 34 Pakachoag Village, formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Dorothy M. (Belsito) Rucci; three sons, Christy J. Rucci of Millbury, Robert Rucci and Ronald S. Rucci both of Sutton; three brothers, Daniel Rucci, Angelo Rucci and Domonic Rucci all of Worcester; four sisters, Mary Clemente of Worcester, Frances Deras of Sturbridge; Grace Rucci of Shrewsbury and Theresa Atkins of New York; six grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Mario and George Rucci. He was born in Worcester son of Domonic and Josephine (Tatalo) Rucci and lived in Worcester before moving to Auburn last year.
Mr. Rucci was a supervisor at the former H. H. Brown Shoe Company, in Worcester for 42 years, retiring in 1989. He also owned Chris Rucci Boxing Gym and was co-owner of the Exchange Street Gym, both in Worcester, He managed and trained boxers and was also a boxing promoter in the Worcester area. He was a Navy veteran during WW II serving in the American and Asiatic Pacific Theater and was stationed in Okinawa. He was an avid sportsman and fisherman.
A private funeral service will be held in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. The family request that flowers be omitted.
