OXFORD – Cynthia A. (Hoyt) Buffone, 69, died Friday, March 17, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William A. Buffone of Oxford; her son Andrew M. Buffone of Auburn and her daughter Angela M. (Buffone) Harrity and her husband Jake of Oxford; two grandchildren Tucker and Liam; her siblings Patricia Hutchins of Athol and Christopher (Chip) Hoyt and his wife Denise of Oxford; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a wide community of loved ones. She was predeceased by her sister, Gail Dutter. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Carroll and Jeanine (Renauld) Hoyt and lived in Millbury before moving to Oxford 40 years ago. She graduated from Millbury High School in 1971 followed by Rob Roy School of Cosmetology.
Cynthia was a true artist. There was nothing she touched that didn’t turn into something magnificent. For many years she ran her own business, MoonShadows, where she did woodworking, stained glass, jewelry making and so much more. Cynthia taught Reiki locally and internationally but she was far more than a teacher, she was a mentor for so many to develop their own potential to heal those around them. Later in life she worked in office settings before retiring to spend more time with her beloved grandchildren whom above all her accomplishments were her greatest joy.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, hosting epic parties, knitting or crocheting the new babies their first blankets, and generally providing whatever support anyone needed when they needed it.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 23rd at 10:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame Hospice Care, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester MA.
