MILLBURY Daniel F. Foley Jr., 87, of 129 Wheelock Ave., died Monday, June 20th in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
His wife, Stella M. (Finn) Foley died in 1966. He leaves three sons, Daniel F. Foley III of Benton, AR, Dennis M. Foley of North Brookfield and David P. Foley of Dowagiac, MI; a daughter, Maureen M. Boyda of Millbury; a brother, Robert Foley of Leicester; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Daniel F. Foley Sr. and Ida M. (Dufresne) Foley and has lived in Millbury 60 years.
Mr. Foley worked at the former Ballard Motors Company for 25 years, retiring in 1980. He was an Army Air Force Sergeant, serving during WW II as an instructor at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, teaching Airplane Mechanics. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Worcester, a member Historian of the Devoe-Taylor American Legion Post #9 and a member and Historian of the Millbury Veterans Council. He was a Past Master of the former Millbury Grange #107, a Past Master and member of the Auburn Grange #60, the musician at the Charlton Grange #92 and was a member of the Worcester Central Pomona Grange #7.
A funeral will be held Thursday, June 23rd from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton, St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. JosephTM)s Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22nd in the funeral home. A combined prayer service of the Devoe-Taylor Post and the Millbury Veterans Council will be held a 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22nd in the funeral Home.
