MILLBURY – Daniel Michael Gavin, 76, passed away peacefully in his home on Dec. 9th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late, Austin and Gertrude (Adams) Gavin.
Daniel leaves his wife of 50 years, Patricia A. (Noel) Gavin; a daughter, June Courville; a son, Daniel Gavin and his wife, Cheryl; six grandchildren, Bill White and his fiancé, Kristin Foley, Steven Courville, Awtumn Courville, Bryce Gavin, Aliyssa Courville and Summer Leblanc; two great grandsons, Ashton White and Ayni Crews; two sisters, Ann Franco and Dorothy Landry and her husband, Richard; a brother, Paul Gavin; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a grandson, Kyle Gavin; three brothers, Donald, William and James Gavin and three sisters, Teresa Basilica, Barbara Schulman and Kathy Gavin.
Daniel graduated from Sacred Heart High School and worked at Standard Foundry in Worcester for over 20 years. He then drove taxi for Millbury/Auburn Taxi for 26 years. Daniel played softball for many years in Grafton and Worcester. He enjoyed his family, playing the lottery, trips to the casino but most of all he loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Daniel’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, Dec. 15th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors.
